6 Tips to taking care of your skin this Holiday Season

1.)Moisturize Better: Find a product that works with your skin type.  If you are unsure which to choose, you can go to your spa to find out which will work best.  The winter brings in dryness.  Also make sure you are hydrating with drinking enough water.

 

2.)Use your sunscreen: I know, we think of sunscreen for the summer time, but the truth is that winter sun and snow glare can affect skin and cause it to age and dry out faster.  Make sure to keep sunscreen applied when playing with Frosty this winter.

 

3.)Avoid Irritation: Try to wear water resistant gloves and socks to prevent from having wet clothes which can cause irritation.  Also wear cotton under wool to prevent itchy irritation.

 

4.)Hook up the humidifier: the furnace, fires, and heaters eliminate all the humidity in the air.  Set up a cool air humidifier to keep your home and living space nice and humidified.  A nice, inexpensive trick is to boil a pot of water on the stove until it is gone.

 

5.)Mix it up: Although it is common skin care process to exfoliate, certain exfoliators and peels can be too harsh during the dry winter.  Ask your spa professional about different gentle cleansers for your winter at home skin care routine.

 

6.)Seek a Specialist: Finally, WebMD recommends finding a pro, “If you go to your local drugstore, you’ll be hard put to find a salesperson who can give you good advice. That’s why going to an aesthetician or dermatologist even once is a good investment. Such a specialist can analyze your skin type, troubleshoot your current skin care regimen, and give you advice on the skin care products you should be using.”
